The sizing concept of this die is similar to Redding's Competition Seating Die, where the cartridge case is fully supported and aligned with the sizing bushing before the sizing process commences.

During the resizing process, the cartridge case remains supported in the sliding sleeve, which is tightly chambered. It moves upward as the resizing bushing self-centers on the case neck. The use of the internal parts of the die as a linear support, much like a firing pin, ensures that the decapping rod is aligned precisely. Moreover, the bushing position micrometer adjustment provides precise control over the amount of neck length to be sized.
