Faxon's 6.5 Grendel Heavy Fluted Barrel sports straight flutes that give it a classic target rifle look. Inside the barrel, 5R button rifling maximizes the accuracy potential of the 6.5 Grendel round by offsetting the lands and grooves. The 6.5 Grendel Heavy Fluted Barrel is made from top-grade 416R stainless steel at Faxon's advanced facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. The barrel is coated with nitride inside and out to protect it from corrosion and surface wear. It comes in 18" and 20" lengths, with the gas port positioned for a mid-length gas tube for the 18" and a rifle-length gas tube for the 20" barrel. Its 1-8" twist stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights, and it is equipped with an 11° target crowned muzzle. The muzzle is threaded for use with a comp/flash hider/brake/silencer and has a 5/8"-24 thread.
