The machined solid barstock beavertail grip safety is purposely left slightly bigger at key areas to allow for a fully customized fit. The beavertail is wider than the frame allowing it to be fit to the frame instead of the frame having to be fit to the beavertail. This feature safeguards against a loose or ratty fit. Its overall length is longer at the bottom and its angle matches to fill the gap between the mainspring housing and the safety. Its radius is .245" and fits frames that are pre-cut to .250". Additionally, the pin hole is finish reamed to .158" to further enhance the fit and function. Lastly, there is a considerable contact pad that ensures positive engagement when gripping the gun. The .220 radius grip safeties are tailored to Springfield and Caspian frames.
