These bolt carrier groups feature a bolt machined from 9130 tool steel inside a carrier made from durable 8620 hardened steel. The extractor, gas key, and cam pin are all chrome plated for corrosion protection and a smooth, low-friction operation. They're compatible with rifles chambered in 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, or 300 Blackout, but not with full-auto lower receivers.
For retro builds, Brownells AR-15 Chrome Bolt Carrier Groups are available with or without forward-assist serrations. The non-serrated model is correct for early AR-15s like the Air Force Model 601, while the serrated model is correct for mid-1960s XM16E1 rifles.
